What is Fundraise to End Cancer?

Fundraise to End Cancer is MD Anderson's empowering and flexible Do-It-Yourself Fundraising Program. Through this initiative, you can effortlessly support MD Anderson Cancer Center by creating your personalized online fundraising page. Check out this short video for a quick and informative overview.

Where does the money go?

All donations, 100% of funds raised, support MD Anderson Cancer Center’s mission to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation and the world.

Is there a registration fee?

No. There is no registration fee or minimum fundraising requirement.

Can the funds that I raise support a specific area of MD Anderson’s mission?

Yes. When registering, you can select one of the following mission areas: Research, Prevention, Education, Patient Care or Greatest Need. If you have a specific project in mind that you're passionate about, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at Fundraise@MDAnderson.org. We're here to support your vision!

Is there a minimum age requirement to create a fundraising page?

You must be 18 years of age or older to create a fundraising page. Individuals under 18 years of age must have a parent or legal guardian create a fundraising page on their behalf and agree to the Terms and Conditions.

How do I fundraise?

Fundraising becomes a breeze with the launch of your own Fundraise to End Cancer page. Upon registration, you gain access digital fundraising tools and pre-loaded fundraising templates to facilitate your efforts. Watch this video to learn more.

Can I access my fundraising page on my phone?

Yes. The Fundraise to End Cancer website is mobile friendly. Plus, we offer a Fundraise to End Cancer mobile app for your iPhone or Android device. Download it for easy fundraising from the palm of your hand.

Can I use MD Anderson’s logo on my fundraising materials?

You may use any of the MD Anderson branded fundraising material in your Participant Center to promote your fundraiser. These materials may not be altered. Use of MD Anderson's logo is not permitted.

Can I create my own materials with MD Anderson’s logo?

If you wish to use MD Anderson’s name on materials not provided through your Participant Center, you must complete and submit the Third Party Event form. Use of MD Anderson's logo is not permitted.

What’s the deadline for sending in the funds I raise?

Please turn in all funds raised through your fundraiser to MD Anderson no later than 30 days after your event date.

How long will my fundraising page stay open?

Your fundraising page will remain active for a period of one calendar year and will be closed on December 31. Should you wish to continue your fundraising efforts, you can re-launch your page in the following year.

I’m having trouble coming up with ideas for my fundraising campaign. Is there a list of examples?

Are there specific rules I must follow when fundraising on behalf of MD Anderson?

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your fundraiser on behalf of MD Anderson is in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, and is conducted in accordance with MD Anderson’s mission, values and policies. MD Anderson reserves the right and sole discretion to remove any fundraising pages from the Fundraise to End Cancer website due to noncompliance with any such applicable laws, regulations, values and policies.

How can I promote my fundraiser?

We provide helpful tools in the Participant Center to promote your fundraiser. You also can share a link to your fundraising page in emails, on social media and via text message. For those using the mobile app (iPhone or Android) there is a QR code option to share your fundraising page.

Can I partner with a local business, like a restaurant, to raise funds?

Yes. However, you are responsible for any promotion of any such partnership. MD Anderson is unable to assist in and will not be responsible for any promotion of any such partnership or your fundraiser.

I am an MD Anderson employee. Can I create a Fundraise to End Cancer page?

Yes. Creating a Fundraise to End Cancer page is a great way to give back to MD Anderson. You must follow all applicable MD Anderson policies in conducting your fundraiser, including the Charitable Activities, Charitable Expenditures, and Solicitation Policy (#ADM0115).

Donations

Are donations tax deductible?

Yes, your gift is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. For a copy of your receipt email Giving@MDAnderson.org

Can I make a donation internationally?

Yes. Follow the same process and you will see the option to select your country.

Can I take donations in the form of cash and check?

Yes. Please make checks payable to MD Anderson Cancer Center. Include fec23 and the name of the person hosting the fundraiser in the memo line. Send in your funds raised with the Check Tracking Form found in your Participant Center to:

Can I give from my Charitable Gift Fund (Donor Advised Fund)?

Yes. Select MD Anderson Cancer Center from your Donor Advised Fund Portal (Tax ID: 74-6001118). For entities that can only give to 501 (c)3 organizations select The University of Texas Foundation (Tax ID: 74-1587488). Include the following in the memo portion of your request: Fundraise to End Cancer (fec23). Please contact Giving@MDAnderson.org to request a W-9.
